TractorShare just provided a grant for an overhaul of a tractor engine for the Apatun Farmers' Cooperative in the Yucatan Peninsula. The great thing about tractors is that a 'good' engine can last over 10,000 hours of use if properly maintained. They do, however, break and need to be repaired/replaced. Supporting an entire community means that our tractors are working HARD! That's why our farming partners provide a maintenance plan, to ensure that all equipment is properly maintained. The Apatun farmers have a dedicated maintenance professional, responsible for the care and upkeep of all equipment.
